Patient Take-Homes are a new—fully optional—way to share specific, curated clinical evidence with your patients, fully at your discretion, by converting OpenEvidence answers into patient handouts. We built Patient Take-Homes so physicians can—at their full discretion—optionally share appropriate, high-quality, evidence-based medical information with patients, when and where it can be helpful, fully curated and controlled by the physician.
From a conversation on OpenEvidence, you can:
Your patient receives a secure link by email to OpenEvidence TakeHome, where they can read their Take-Home and share it with family members or caregivers. On TakeHome, patients are not able to ask their own questions; they are only able to see the content you curate for them.
As the physician, you are fully in control of the information your patient receives. There is never any obligation to share answers with a patient. Only at your discretion, for the patients for whom you think it can provide a tangible benefit, Take-Homes make it easy for you to share the specific, curated evidence relevant to their care.
The ability to create Patient Take-Homes is available today for all NPI-verified clinicians. To create a Take-Home, press the dropdown next to "Share" at the top of an answer. Learn more in the Patient Take-Homes user guide.
Questions and feedback are always welcome and help us continue to improve OpenEvidence for clinicians and their patients. Please reach out at contact@openevidence.com.
